MISSIONS
..preparing the way for the risen Lord!
|
We, at church @ 24/7
support various missions because we have some personal relationship with
brethren who are involved with them. On
this page we will share a little information about each missionary group and a
way to contact them. The list is
not conclusive and will change from time-to-time.
If you know of missionary groups that we should be aware of please let us
know. As missionaries ourselves, we
are thankful for the opportunity to give to and pray for many brethren who face
danger bringing the good news of the Kingdom of God to people in many places of
the earth. |

The two girls pictured
above are from Mozambique and are living in an orphanage under Iris Ministries.
Rolland Baker introduced them to us at the “Revival
Fire and World Harvest” conference in Albany, Oregon in February 2005.
When their picture was shown Rolland told us that the girl on the right
has AIDS. He told us that they have
had children healed of AIDS and HIV and asked that we pray for her healing.
Mozambique is a place of great poverty and has known much civil war and
as well as devastating floods. It
is now opening to the gospel of Jesus Christ as never before.
It is a rich harvest field.
Iris Ministries
Iris Ministries are located
in Mozambique and are directed by Rolland and Heidi Baker.
They began by ministering to children and orphaned children living in a
garbage dump. Now they have many
orphanages and help oversee thousands of churches, which have been started since
the great floods. Now they are reaching out to other poor nations in Africa
such as Sudan and Sierra Leone. They
have recently ministered in villages in India hit by the recent tsunami.
They are very active in reaching Muslim villages with the gospel of Jesus
Christ. In January 2004 both Roland
and Heidi Baker laid hands on us and prayed over us a couple of times at a
church meeting in Portland. Shortly
thereafter the Lord greatly expanded our ministry in downtown Portland.

ours and are the servant-leaders of Precious Daughters of Portland, Oregon.
They support and serve this orphanage in India, which was affected by the
recent tsunami. All three have
traveled there together. The
orphanage was mostly spared which caused nearby Hindu villagers to note our
Lord’s protecting hand. Their

the dumpsite in Mexico City in March 2005. Their

Food For The Hungry
Food
For The Hungry brings food and training to areas of poverty and disease.
We first came in contact with this ministry when they were caring for the
“boat people” escaping Viet Nam. They
sponsor projects such as teaching people to plant, maintain, and harvest crops.
They also teach about sanitation and clean water and then help construct
and develop sanitation and clean water projects. Food For The Hungry also brings disaster relief in areas
where there have been earthquakes, floods, and famine. They are also active in tsunami relief. Their website is www.fh.org

India National Inland Mission
INIM is a ministry in India
that is dedicated to reaching the nation and the nations surrounding it.
It was started by Paul Pillai decades ago and has been growing since.
They take in orphans and give them schooling and shelter. Many of the children grow up as Christians who desire to
study further and then they are sent out to the villages to reach them for Jesus
Christ. This ministry has suffered
persecution and has had martyrs for the sake of the gospel. Paul & Annie Pillai’s children have grown up in the
ministry and now assist in its development and growth.
Paul and his family have visited Portland several times and Paul &
Annie have been in our home and shared a meal with us.
For security reasons they have no website at this time but you can
contact them at:
Siloam Ministries
Al & Marilyn Schubert
direct Siloam Ministries and are close friends of ours.
They have ministered with us in Portland several times.
They have stayed in our home and shared much with us.
We supported them in their earlier ministry as intercessors when Al
walked across the US carrying a ball & chain.
Siloam Ministries assist brethren in French speaking sub-Saharan Africa
where there have been many wars and tribal conflicts. They work in nations such as Central African Republic, Chad,
Niger, Togo, and Cameroon. They
work with ministries who are reaching out to unreached people groups such as the
Pygmies who are persecuted by other Africans of larger stature.
These ministries are also very active in reaching people for Jesus
Christ in French speaking Africa. Many ministries supported by Siloam
Ministries have suffered persecution through intimidation and violence.
Siloam Ministries financially support several African native
missionaries, intercessors, and they also support orphanages.
Siloam Ministries is
directed by Al & Marilyn Schubert who live in Fort Davis, Texas.
Al travels periodically to Africa to teach in ministry institutes,
work with crusades, and to bring encouragement and financial assistance to
various team ministers. They now have a website under construction at Siloam Ministries with an email address.
You can also contact them at:
Siloam Ministries;
PO Box 2143; Fort Davis, TX 79734.
Jennifer
& Alex Cabezon
Jenny grew up in
the Hawthorne neighborhood where we live. She
is the daughter of some friends of ours who used to live in the neighborhood.
While we were all meeting together in a house church Jenny left Portland
for Panama as a YWAM missionary to the poor in rural Panama.
She has learned Spanish and is learning other languages as needed.
Jenny has been in our home and shared her earlier missionary journeys
with the church that met there. Since
arriving in Panama she has married Alex and they have started a family.
The two are continuing in missionary work in Panama. We
do not have a website for her but you may contact her through us and we will put
you in touch. If you desire to help her financially you may send her a gift
through us and we will pass it along. Please
contact us as to how you may best do this. Jenny,
you are in our hearts and in our prayers because you are among the first we have
come to know in this young MISSIONARY GENERATION!

Be A Hero
Wesley
and Stacey Campbell are the directors of Be A Hero. It is Be A Hero’s goal to educate, inspire, equip, and facilitate
people of all ages through conferences, books, magazines, and living examples in
order to challenge them to “Be A Hero” in the lives of those
around them – especially the poor, the exploited, the oppressed, and ‘children
at risk’.
Wesley,
who was a speaker at the February 2005 “Revival
Fire and World Harvest” conference in Albany, Oregon, has co-authored a book called “Be A Hero.”
It makes for some heavy-duty reading but we need to pay attention to its
message. Their website is www.beahero.org
and you may contact them at:
