A few weeks ago we were in a Sunday evening church meeting which ended with a time of personal prayer for people and waiting on the LORD. As people were receiving prayer, we became aware of a man beginning to groan and cry out as if in pain. As his cries became louder and more intense we, along with some other brethren, went over to him. He began to lie down on the pew and clutch his stomach area as he cried out, sometimes with groans. We all did not know what to do so we continued to touch him and pray for him. As we prayed some of us began to get some specific ideas of what to pray for. Then we saw him clutching his belly as he cried out and jerked as if in pain with each cry.
Ron's Testimony: As we prayed, I was impressed with what Jesus said in John 7:38 & 39: "He that believeth on me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive..)" As I looked upon my brother crying out in pain I began to see stones in his belly and some of them had names on them. I also had the sense that these stones were holding back the flow of living water from within his innermost being. I began to name the stones and pray that they would be washed out by the Holy Spirit. I was surprised when he began to cry out louder and grasp his belly all the more intensely. Then there began to be some relief and when I named the stone of "disappointment" he let out a louder cry and then began to calm down as we prayed for the river of living water to flow out of his belly and for the stones to be washed out and replaced with God's presence.
I prayed and asked that the stone of "disappointment" be replaced with "hope." As he quieted he began to smile, then chuckle, then laugh until he was laughing heartily from the depth of his belly. I asked Jesus to teach me about what was going on with this man. The LORD spoke to my heart about wells which are stopped up and are opened by removing the stones. The analogy applies to brothers and sisters whose lives have been stopped up by stones of self-centeredness, covetousness, lust, fear, hatred, anger, hopelessness, disappointment, bitterness, unforgiveness, gossip, pride, duty, etc. In order for the rivers of living water to flow out again, the stones must be taken out of our hearts by the LORD so that the river can flow through us and on out to others.
Since this night, we have found ourselves praying with many people in whom the LORD wants to release a flowing of the rivers of living water from within their innermost being, i.e. from their belly. This is not a counseling time nor is it a mental experience. It is a time of prayer where brethren seem to have a need of having some stones removed from their hearts so that His river can flow. In Revelation 22, the Scriptures speak of the river of the water of life which flows as clear as crystal from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In Ezekiel 47, they speak of the waters which flow from His house which bring healing and life. We are His house and His throne is in our hearts where we worship and experience His love. As we receive His healing, we have healing to give away and as we receive His love, we have love to give away. Jesus wants His life to flow out of us and He doesn't want any stones to block the flow of His wonderful love.
Many people we pray for (both saved and unsaved) have a distorted view of God. We, ourselves, are asking Him to give us a clearer understanding of Him. Look at Ephesians 1:17 and then pray this for yourself. "Oh God of my Lord Jesus Christ, my Father of glory, please give me a spirit of wisdom and revelation so that I may know You better." If someone you are praying for is having trouble seeing and knowing God, then pray this for them. We all see God many ways and our understanding and relationship changes as we mature. We are on a "journey of the heart" as we grow closer in our relationship with Him.
I come to know my Creator as one of His creation.
I receive my Savior's mercy and follow after Him.
I bow before my mighty King and become His servant.
I am embraced by my Father and obey Him because I love Him.
I am loved by my Bridegroom and yield to Him as He captures my
heart.
We usually come to know God first as the Creator because the Creation calls us to Him. The majesty and beauty of His Creation reveals His love, His joy, His life-giving presence. Our interaction with the Creation usually lets us know that we are out of tune and that something is wrong with us - it is our sin. We meet Him as Savior and experience His personal love for us. Soon we learn that He is Lord and King and we begin to serve Him. It is here that the stone of "religion" tries to block up our personal relationship with Him. Many brothers and sisters get stuck here.
Karen's Testimony: I was talking to a woman who wanted prayer. She said she was fearful and did not feel she was doing what God wanted her to do. Things were not right. She felt she was in captivity. I prayed for the love of God to come and that as soon as she discerned fear she should run to Jesus and hide in the cleft of the rock, because God's perfect love casts out all fear. I told her that from her belly came rivers of living water and that there were rocks in the way that were blocking the river from flowing. I said that the first rock was "condemnation." The Bible says there is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk after the Spirit. I spoke out, "I show you the Blood of Jesus. Rock of "condemnation" you have no right to be there. We demolish you and blast you out in the name of Jesus. Fire of God, come and burn out that which is not holy." I sensed another rock called "rejection." I encouraged her, "You are accepted in the beloved. God will never leave you nor forsake you. You are the apple of his eye. Rock of "rejection" you must leave in the name of Jesus. Burn it out. Now let the love of God come. More love Lord. More love." All of a sudden she broke out in uncontrollable weeping for a short time and then a calm came. Another burst of weeping came followed by a calm. We had her sit down. The peace of God came and a smile came over her countenance. She sat there a long time with her eyes closed and smiling. I asked the Lord if there was something more I was suppose to do. He said, "No." I asked the Lord what was happening. He said that the two outbursts were the blowing out of the two rocks and to let her bask in his love.
In Revelation 22 we read: "And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb...And there shall be no more curse...And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads. As we seek His face, the Father's love for us embraces us and brings us through "religion" and restores our relationship with Him. Some of us are now being drawn even closer to Jesus, knowing Him as our Bridegroom. The fire of His love for us is capturing our hearts and the rivers of living water are being released. Our thanksgiving is filled with our love for Him - Jesus, our Bridegroom. "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come...And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."
